Researcher Makes Impact In Alberta’s Energy Industry
Dr. Zhangxing Chen is among Canada’s most distinguished researchers in petroleum reservoir simulation. He is building fundamental theories about enhancing oil recovery, economically and environmentally. His work in developing algorithms is helping the sector understand the physics of oil reservoirs.
Dr. Chen’s research has a direct impact on the decision making in Alberta’s energy industry. He is moving the recovery process forward as he builds Canada’s knowledge economy.
Dr. Chen has supervised 10 post-doctoral fellows, 15 PhD students and 26 MSc graduate students. He currently co-supervises 36 graduate students at the University of Calgary.
