Pioneering 3D urban modeling with AI, LiDAR, and interdisciplinary innovation

Dr. Ruisheng Wang is a leader in urban modeling, geospatial science, and photogrammetry. He integrates LiDAR point-cloud processing with AI to automate high-accuracy 3D city models, advancing smart-city planning, navigation, and HD maps for autonomous driving. He created Building3D which is the first and largest urban-scale benchmark for 3D building reconstruction, accelerating deep-learning research. He also founded the Urban Scene Modeling workshop and Building3D Challenge, uniting AI, graphics, and photogrammetry to solve real-world mapping problems.
