Initiative: Flowing Forward: Navigating Canada’s Water Resources in an Era of Change
Dr. Alain Pietroniro is a hydrology and sustainable water systems expert with almost three decades of experience in water resources engineering. He currently holds the position of Professor and Canada Research Chair in Sustainable Water Systems at the University of Calgary’s Schulich School of Engineering. His research focuses on improving, developing, and evaluating hydrologic models; understanding the sensitivity of water resources to climate variability and change; and developing the next generation of hydrological modelling systems. His work combines his expertise in operational, policy, and water resource areas to address urgent sustainability issues.
