Guided by the belief that teaching multiplies impact, Dr. Ahmed Mowafy Saad, Assistant Teaching Professor, Civil & Environmental Engineering, University of Alberta, creates transformative learning experiences for approximately 1,800 engineering students each year. He launched the Fantasy Mechanics League, a gamified framework that boosts participation; introduced self-marking assessments informed by Indigenous practices; and built AI-assisted grading and Python tools for dynamic, automated assessment. With 13+ years in academia and industry across the Middle East and Western Canada, he advances inclusive, resilient engineering education.
