Dr. Jing Liu, Associate Professor of Chemical & Materials Engineering at the University of Alberta and holder of the Engineering Research Chair (UAERC), develops sustainable materials for clean energy. Her team advances next-gen batteries and low-carbon metal production, helping oil & gas, mining, and renewables cut emissions. Since 2019 she has secured $5M+, partnered with Imperial Oil and NRCan, and published 60+ papers. Awards include the 2022 Petro-Canada Young Investigator and 2024 MetSoc Brimacombe; she mentors and leads nationally.
